Hellville
Nosi Be Island/ Madagasca
At the foot of the wharf, containers serve as immigration offices.
Hardly on land we are surrounded by a crowd of blacks fighting over who will guard our dinghy; we leave it with Jean-Luc, while John, a beautiful, smiling boy with a colourful woolen rasta cap, and Florian the clown will be our guard and guide. To exchange money they bring us to the back kitchen of a coquettish little house up on a hill with a view over the entire bay. Tens of small canoes with square sails return to port in the sunset - enchanting playtings dancing on the silver-orange sea - to go to some shed with corrugated iron roof. The exchange women comes out of her shower, her big body wrapped in a wrinkled, humid towel and hands us large amounts of banknotes in exchange of our 400 euros; hardly disembarked and already millionaires, in aryary, the new local money.
Very tired from our crossing, we consume with some difficulty a lamb curry and a shrimp cocktail, accompanied by a liter of HTB, the local beer.
John and Jean-Luc want nothing for their services, we will take care of that tomorrow; but in the middle of the night, anchored in front of the port, a yelling Florian awakes us and wants some money, he drank and smoked too much and I have to spray him with the snow of my fire extinguisher to get rid of him.
Already Madagascar is keeping all its promises.
NOSI BE MADAGASCAR
2nd letter from Stany
Do not think that aboard La Malu II, and despite the distance from our home land, we do not care about Belgium's destiny !
No !
Our marine microcosmos, our tiny theatre-with-closed-doors, encompasses the complete institutional complexity of our great nation. So, having realized that we are divided in equal parts Flemish and francophone, we unanimously decided to trace out exact zones on board where the use of language will be regulated for the sake of linguistic peace.
The aft cabin where Luc and Bernard rule will be exclusive Flemish territory ("waar Vlamingen thuis zijn"). The front cabin of Batiste and Stany is completely dedicated to francophony (une terre d'accueil"). The bridge is declared Brussels, style 19 municipalities, where the two languages can be used freely. The kitchen on the contrary is exclusively francophone (ce soir, salade liégoise), while the whine cellar is resolutely Flemish. The rest of the common spaces have "facilities".
Bernard, our very respected captain, is no "franskiljon", everybody knows that. Luc is not an extremist Fleming, on the contrary; Batiste has been baptized "Marollien of the Périgord" and me a "Brussels-Dansaert-man", which distinguishes me from the FDF.
So you will have understood by now, here compromise and an open mind are standard.
May Bart De Wever stumble over his incapacity to negotiate.
LONG LIVE BELGIUM ! DOWN WITH ALL EXTREMISTS !
Stany

There are tons of toads hopping all around this part of the country; maybe I can send you one in the ma20i#8&3l; haha, I don’t think that would be the best package to receive in the mail though. |

Thanks for these guidelines. One thing I also believe is that credit cards presenting a 0% monthly interest often entice consumers along with zero interest rate, instant acceptance and easy ovtrhe-e-internet balance transfers, but beware of the real factor that may void your own 0% easy road annual percentage rate as well as throw anybody out into the poor house in no time. |

Seriously. I can't believe soomene can make cookies like that. Amazing. My parents play golf and I would love to have a tutorial in those. By the way, what was his reaction? Lisa~ |
